Another Taibbi Rebuttal

Ezra Klein at the WaPo rebuts Matt Taibbi‘s problematic RS piece:

Taibbi chose a swift-moving narrative at the expense of an accurate picture of how — and more importantly, where — Wall Street is capturing the political process…

What unites not only Obama’s economic team, but his whole White House, is not its emphasis on rich people. It’s the emphasis on people accustomed to dealing with Congress. You’ve got a former Treasury secretary, CBO director, DCCC chairman, chief of staff to the Senate majority leader, chief of staff to the chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, chief of staff to the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, and on it goes. It’s rather difficult to say what these people do and don’t believe, as their whole world is finding 218 in the House and 60 in the Senate, and every word, action and policy brief is squarely aimed at that goal.

Taibbi defended earlier charges.

    Bless you my child.lol

Thank you for highlighting this. Just because you use F@#k, dam@, s%$t,hell in an opinion piece doesn’t neccessarily make you the next big thing in journalism and it definitely does not make your corny azz COOL.

Of course I’m referring to matt and not the great man who runs this blog and isn’t afraid to show diverse opinions.

You’re welcome. I have no illusions as to the substance of a Taibbi post. It’s great entertainment. This go around he was shooting at a moving target. After reading several rebuttals, I liked the one above best. Sadly, these folks are so intertwined that several narratives are probably possible. However, I don’t think Obama is doing anything previous Republicans haven’t done.

matt has finally been exposed and the big boys called his azz out.

I put him in the same category of bill maher (comedian?). Actually that is where I first saw him and wasn’t impressed.

I think that is quite true, and that saddens me greatly, given that Mr. O is the first black man in the presidency. I had hoped and wished that he would not be a product of The Political System – which I find totally corrupt.

Maybe some good will come of it, in spite of that reality.

    Same old shit, different president.
