The Wife and I were painting at Twin Brooks today when the doorbell rang. I opened the door and in walks a white woman of foreign provenance who mentioned the fridge being too small. The Wife, who has the flu and water literally pouring out of her face, said she could bring her own refrigerator. Alas, the complainant had none. After a tour, the Wife mentioned a credit app.

And then we got the sob story. You don’t want to hear it and neither did we. The Wife is a nice person, but I suffer no such affliction. I yelled from the laundry room for the Wife to tell her. After my second entreaty the Wife informed the woman that we already had several applicants with good credit.

We arrived home to find three messages from the woman begging us to give her a break. Fat chance. Perhaps next time she’ll tell the sob story before running the place down.

I first noticed this when I left Stenchville: Renters think everybody owes them something. They fuck up their lives and think the world should care. Times are hard and getting harder. Look to your family and church before prevailing on the kindness of strangers.

A black person would never have debased themself so. I hate white people.

Some people, eh ? This victim thing has been going on for a couple decades, hasn’t it ?

This story, for whatever reason, reminded me of the first time I ran into that mindset – it was my brother !

It was many years later, and shortly after I got sober when I concluded associating with him was not worth it. That was, ohhh, 16 or 17 years ago.

The victim mindset is one I sure try to steer clear of, even if it’s family !

Some of my fave people have probs with drugs and alcohol. I don’t suffer from an addictive personality and I have sympathy for those who do. Victimhood, otoh, is a personal choice. Yes, my family is full of it.

I really don’t know what people who’ve ruined their credit do to find a place to live. But that’s not our problem, so long as qualified candidates exist. It’s terrible to be that way. C’est la vie.

fec, lord of slumdom and your own effed up feifdom: welcome to the Obamanation and end of whitey as we knew him. Wash your hands and never strike a flu sufferer in the eye, nose or mouth. I hope yall feel better and the bug is the short-lived-feels-like-rheumatic-fever 24-36 hour stuff.

Thanks. I got the same thing last year. I’ll probably catch it sooner of later this year. Having been sick most of my life, I’m much more equipped to be ill. JoJo is a pitiful thing on the rare occasion she’s sick.

I know whitey well and he hasn’t changed a bit in several millennia.

I think that depends on the neighborhood, or the situation…. or the time of day… Heck, I don’t know why but I meet blacks, whites and hispanics every day who curse me to my face than ask for favors. WTF? When their cursing doesn’t get them a bigger, better deal they turn to sob stories, I guess, as a last ditch effort to get me to pay them more than I paid the last guy. (Ain’t gonna happen.) Some even threaten me but as I tend not to have any great expectations for the rest of my life it really doesn’t bother me.

    I hate all races.

Mine was a ridiculous and indefensible statement. No such generalizations can be made.

Bill: nascarian racists get on my last nerve. The other races I hate with equal oppurtunity, but anyone i see with a nascar decal on their vehicle, I try to run em in the wall.
