Despite the partying in the street, the Simkins PAC maintains its control of Greensboro politics. Perkins knows it. Methany and Anderson Groat are about to find out.

Scooter Sanders and Tom Fox are getting their pay restored and have returned to duty. Mitch Johnson is demoted, but still employed. Regardless, City Staff must continue serving a group of buffoons. I suspect this is not unusual among municipalities and in my opinion, any Council which is politically grid-locked doesn’t get much done and that’s probably a good thing.

As to removing developers from Council, I don’t expect Perkins to alienate himself from his base. Stronger medicine will be required. The Simkins PAC may yet endorse more developers. We may find ourselves in no better shape after the next election.

The political reality remains that a Simkins endorsed candidate drawing on the power of TREBIC is an unbeatable combination. Among the apathetic and ignorant electorate of GSO there simply are not enough voters energized by the torch and pitch fork crowd. I am afraid that despite their strong grasp of the facts, they may not be able to construct a compelling narrative against the status quo. Indeed, Jerry & the Hammers have failed miserably, so far.

Enjoy your well-deserved party, folks. It’s been a long time coming. But don’t forget the Simkins PAC has frequently played you for fools and that is not likely to cease. They appeal to your worst aspects and you seldom fail to disappoint.

The only real entertainment I’ve had during the celebration is watching the boot-licker, Ryan Shell, getting his ass handed to him.

A bit of advice: you simply can’t demonize the Simkins PAC without leaving yourselves wide open to charges of racism. Therefore, if the opposition is to have any chance, all energy must be brought to bear against TREBIC and its members. In this, Keith Brown has been prescient. The right of protest petition will soon be restored by the state legislature. Let’s get behind him and continue shedding light on these people who’ve enjoyed too much political influence for far too long.

TREBIC’s opposition to the Jordan Lake Rules, promoting water conservation, may be the very stick we need to beat them. Mike Barber sure seemed to be carrying TREBIC’s water at last night’s Council meeting. And from City staff’s comments, some form of resolution by the legislature is a foregone conclusion. Therefore, we seem to have state government on our side, a considerable resource.

Great post as usual, secretary of state reporting for duty and it has been a pleasure to point out the TREBIC CARTEL and their total influence on local politics but the citizens weren’t buying their arguments for keeping the exemption in place. Hopefully more people will understand what we are saying and make a difference. This fall’s Greensboro election will be a great indicator as to if a shift is there , we will see.

Thank you, sir. Congratulations on the restoration of our right to protest petition. I’m hoping our reduced circumstances will signal a return to the voting booths. The opposition can only win when there’s low turnout.
