Among local media, WXII12 appears to have something up first. I also saw the video at 6:00.
Nothing’s up at News2.
MyFOX8 has ignored it.
MoveOn.org claims to have 115,000 members in NC. Reports indicate 100 protesters. If many of them were counter-protesters, it doesn’t look like the members are very happy about the org’s strong arm tactics.
I’m generally not for government-controlled anything and I’d love for BCBS of NC to have some competition.
19:15: Things appear to have been a bit more lively today in Raleigh:
Police separated two groups organizing outside of U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan’s office in Raleigh today while they were protesting health care reform.
The protest originally was organized by the national liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org, which held protests at senators’ offices across the country today. The protest of about 20 people was pushing for a public option in health care reform. The national group has been watching Hagan specifically.
Another group organized by NC Freedom, a conservative group, showed up to protest against MoveOn and the public option for health care.
Hysterical! It was reported in the N&O this afternoon.
Apparently, they had more to report.
I would have paid real money to be there.
It looks like the conservatives were ready for them. I’ve not had many opps to say so, but the Dems have plenty of dumbasses, too.
