A month ago, I emailed Rep. Howard Coble:
The Greensboro News & Record has this day conflated you with that unfortunate colleague, Virginia Foxx, as having voted for HR 3221 Vote 712 on her amendment to end funding for community colleges.
Other than the obvious reason that we can’t afford to spend money we don’t have, would you mind stating why you voted for it.
I don’t like seeing your good name in the same sentence with hers. You have a spotless record of common sense voting.
Thank you for your service.
Today, I received a response:
Thank you for contacting our office sharing your support for the Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years Act (H.R. 3501). We appreciate your comments.
There is no reason to share the remainder of the letter as it has nothing to do with the HR 3221 and Virginia Foxx‘s sad amendment. Whether this was an error or deliberate obfuscation, I do not know.
10-23-09 11:30: I have emailed Rep. Coble regarding the mixup asking him to address the original question.
Welcome to my world, Jeff.
Welcome back. You’ve been missed.
Just stopping by. Your post is relevant to what I’ve been put through by Coble and his ilk (on both sides of the aisle) for years.
Good luck on that getting him to address the original question thing. Answering simple questions is not a strong point with that crowd in Washington.
FYI, I’ve got an e-mail in to the Medical Board. I think five months is quite long enough to wait on the NCAG’s office to get back to them on a simple meeting. If I don’t see some movement with this one, I won’t be writing any more letters.
I was surprised to get the first response, fractured as it was.
