From YES! Weekly Election Coverage, quoting the candidate:
“I would like to be sure going forward that as we select new administration into the police department command group that we’re doing it based on ability and qualifications. We have had one chief selected because of race. We’ve had another interim chief — don’t know what his…. We had another chief who was basically forced out on racial issues. And we have a chief today who, in my opinion, is there primarily because of race.” — Piedmont Triad League of Women Voters candidate forum, Sept. 15
Congratulations, Mayor Knight, on your victory. It is obvious to those citizens paying attention that you are affiliated with a local political party led by loose cannons and fools. I urge you to take matters in hand immediately to quell concerns, however legitimate they may be, that racial backlash was the primary reason for your election. Show the good people of Greensboro, and in particular local Republicans, that you will brook no such foolishness. Your comments concerning the disposition of Chief Wray and other disgraced GPD officers give rise to speculation that yours may be an administration sullied by acts of political retribution.
I respect your ability to attack the city budget to great effect. Please act at the earliest opportunity to assure us that you do not also have more prurient motivations. I remind you that you were elected to serve all the citizens of our city, regardless of race or creed.
Excellent
“that racial backlash was the primary reason for your election.”
–I guess racism is the reason that Dan Fischer didn’t make it through the primary in district 2. I voted for Knight and Nettie Coad.
Brandon, your status as a “birther” is known to us, making you a booger-eater. Nothing you have to say on this matter is of any consequence.
Birther? I voted for Obama never having seen his birth certificate that he and his opponents made such a fuss over.
So what do you think? Is racism the reason people laughed at the sight of a white man before he even had the chance to speak about district 2 issues at the Unity Forum?
Be gone, troll.
I know you are but what am I?
You have a point. I knew some Burgesses in Ramseur. Good looking kids and excellent athletes. And yes, racism is rampant on both sides.
